Stephen Colbert puts Smaug in the hot seat for a change

Colbert is no stranger to the King under the Mountain — the actor had a small cameo in The Desolation of Smaug in 2013.
In the interview, Colbert attempts to show Smaug why the two are not so different in terms of their core beliefs.
“We both live in gated communities, and we’re both fiscal conservatives who sit on giant piles of money,” Colbert told Smaug.
Smaug and Colbert covered a broad range of topics, including Game of Thrones, Sherlock and the use of motion capture in the trilogy.
To top it off, Smaug explained his representation as a villain in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy as “Liberal Hollywood bias,” and shouted his support for Ron Paul in 2016.
